Minecraft

Back to Reality

I play a lot of Minecraft. It was my go-to game when my depression was at its worst, and I found that it was an amazing game for stealing my attention away from my internal demons.

I only wish I was better at the game, lol. Here are some of my accomplishments from my time playing the game, and probably some extra things, too.

ACCORUS — my lifetime world

Accorus was my attempt to play the game over the span of... my entire life, I suppose, which has only sort of worked out. I attempted to make some lore for myself in the past, but I never got far with it. I'll be rewriting some of it for this page.

For a good period of time, I was using the Tumblr-popular Mizuno's 16 texture pack, which you might see pop up in legacy screenshots. I stopped using this over time and using default textures though, to force myself to get better with building and not relying so heavily on a texture pack to make things look nice. (And, yknow, Blackstone and Deepslate became a thing, so I didn't need to use andesite from Mizuno's to get dark blocks anymore.)

The Nest

The Nest — Central Area
The last day I remembered before arriving in the Hanrock Forest was someday in early 2019. I don't know how long it's been since then, but, who knows? Maybe back home, time hasn't changed at all. Maybe this is just one terrible dream. There are still times when I lay in bed at night and think to myself, "maybe I'm still back home." But, well, I can't really get my hopes up anymore.
I woke up upon a bed of quartz, with a beam of light that rose through the sky in otherworldly fashion. Fittingly so, that I found myself in another world. After some panic, not helped by running into a thick forest and not knowing my way out, I built a spot for myself that would suit as shelter. It was only meant to be temporary, but... I never found it fit to really leave. So, I built out of it — down into the earth and up into the sky, away to other locations I found on my travels.
Such a space was fitting of the name "The Nest". After all, I had nestled down, and now this was my space, and being here felt cozy, like it helped lessen the blow of being swept off to another universe or world or whatever.

This is my main base; I've built a lot of cool things here, like my underground subway system, little cozy underground section, and my entire farm setup!
